3rd Milton Cross Country Invitational

Meet at the school by 6:00 a.m.

 

RACE SCHEDULE

8:00 a.m. Varsity Girls (top-10)

8:45 a.m. Varsity Boys (top-10)

9:30 a.m. JV Race Girls (next-15)

10:15 a.m. JV Race Boys (next-15)


AWARDS CEREMONY

Awards will be given to the top three teams in the Varsity race; and to the top two teams in each JV race.  An Overall Award (the Eagle Cup) will be awarded to the team with the lowest combined score from all four races (Varsity & JV Races combined - girls & boys).  The top ten individuals in each Varsity & JV race will receive medals.

 

COMPETITION

Eleven schools from a variety of classifications are scheduled to compete:

Chattahoochee (AAAA), Dunwoody (AAAA), Hillgrove (AAAAA), John’s Creek (AAAA), Lakeside-Evans (AAAA), Lambert (AAAA), Lovett (AA), North Hall (AAA), Pope (AAAA), Riverwood (AAA) and host Milton (AAAAA).

 

SPECTATOR PARKING

Parking is available in front of either Milton High School or Northwestern Middle School, a short walk from the course area.  Parking attendants will assist.

 

COURSE

The course is three loops.  First loop is 1000m, followed by two loops of 2000m each.  Each 1000m and each mile is marked with permanent marker post on the right hand side of the course.  The course is 99% off-road with three road crossings of 10m each and four wooden bridge crossings of 5m each.  The course consists of grass, bark-chip, gravel, dirt and soft pine needle trails.  A course map will be in coaches race packet.  It is very spectator-friendly, with viewing of the race start, 1000m mark, two-mile split, 3000m mark and the finish from the main field.

Take Dallas Hwy East towards the Marietta Square (about 6 miles)

Turn Left onto Cherokee St/Canton Rd Conn (about 3 miles)

Turn Right onto Sandy Plains Rd (about 8 miles)

Turn Right onto Hwy 92 – Woodstock Rd (about 2 miles)

Turn Left onto Hardscrabble Rd/Crabapple Rd (about 4 miles)

Turn Left onto GA-372 N (about 1 mile)

School will be on the right hand side
